Yesterday, I read Barbara Britton's "Christmas at Whispering Creek"--a sweet, Christmas-themed contemporary romance between a young woman who is a breast cancer survivor (Sam(antha) Williams) and an electrician/songwriter (Cole Donoven).
Barbara did a great job of helping the reader experience Samantha's feelings regarding her loss and showing how God helped her. Barbara provided vivid imagery through description and sensory details. I liked how she included the repetition of Scripture throughout. The spiritual arc was well-developed and flowed organically.
Also, I was touched by reading about Barbara's personal story at the end.
I would recommend this story to anyone, but especially to those whose families have been touched by cancer.
This Christmas Extravaganza title is available through Amazon, the Pelican Book Group Website, and through other major retailers. I look forward to reading other Christmas Extravaganza titles.
